Reflections
By Clay Wesley, WLP alum ’09
When you look at me, what do you see?
A stereotype? Or a typical “black girl”?
I am much more than that.
I am not only strong I am educated. I am unstoppable.
I will always be more than what they think about me.
I don’t fail. I always get back up.
I am resilient.
I have the power to be anything I put my mind to.
I am not a ghetto bitch.
My name is Eclasia
My core is always centered and I don’t take any shit
Strength is an understatement when it comes to the Black Woman
I thrive
Whatever anyone thinks of me is none of my concern.
I’m going to do whatever pleases me
I’m beautiful and melanin-filled
