Untitled Black Girl By Cera Lee

Black girl exposed to the world.

Unstable yet gracious she gives to the world.

Black girl thought to be unaware.

Soft to the touch but hard as a shell.

Her shell is unbroken, not even a crack.

For she allows no one close enough to even touch her.

Inside she feels trapped, uncertain, unsure.

She hates that she loves it.

She is scared to be free.

Opening up to let the world see her.

She is scared.

For what if the world doesn’t like what they see?
